EVENT: What if We Owned the Housing Solution!

What If We Owned the Housing Solution?

Community Land Trusts for Local, Lasting, Affordable Housing

WEDNESDAY 16 JULY,  6 – 7:30 pm

Join us in person at Northern Arts Hotel, Castlemaine or on the Livestream

Castlemaine and surrounding towns are no strangers to housing stress. As prices climb and community ties are strained, many locals, especially younger people, women, and essential workers, are being locked out of a secure, affordable future.

But there is another way.

Join us for a community conversation about how we can reclaim housing from a system that has failed us. Instead we can build homes that are community-led for the  people and future generations. Discover how Community Land Trusts (CLTs) offer a proven model for shared equity, local control, and long-term affordability.

We’ll share insights from the new Grounded in Affordability report, which shows how CLTs could help Castlemaine residents save hundreds of thousands on housing, strengthen the local economy, and create a lasting legacy of affordable homes.

This event is for anyone who cares about the future of housing in our region, homeowners, renters, first-home buyers, older residents, young families, and future dreamers alike. Let’s explore what it means to build community-led solutions that last.

From ‘me’ to ‘we’, it’s time to bring housing home.

This event is co-hosted by Grounded Community Land Trust Advocacy and Mount Alexander Community Land Ltd.
